Awakening or Insanity

The p-spot vibrating plug, is a vibrating butt plug from Tantus and is my first vibrating butt plug. The plug appears to be discontinued however as of this review you can still find it, in Tantus Inc’s closeout section for $18.00⁽¹⁾ . So is this plug worth buying before they run out? Or was it retired for a reason? Unfortunately, I’m going to have to say it is the latter.

Materials: Cleaning and Safety Concerns

It’s Tantus which means 100% pure silicone, pure silicone means it is safe, phthalates free and easy to clean and sterilize. You can clean this toy using hot soapy water or your favorite toy cleaner. You can also sterilize the toy (essential if you are sharing the toy) by boiling it for twenty minutes; cleaning it in a ten percent bleach solution or putting it in the top rack of your dishwasher without any detergent.  Cleaning is made easy by the fact that the vibe is removable making it very easy to clean the toy.

The one down side to silicone toys is that you can only use water or oil based lubes with them. Silicone lubes are a no-no because silicone on silicone can cause a reaction that will damage the toy.

Design and Dimensions

This plug is 3.5 inches in length (3.25 being insertable) and 1.5” in maximum diameter with the base being 3” across. It is available in both black and midnight purple⁽²⁾. There is a hole in the base to insert the included bullet vibe. Make sure to put some lube in the opening before inserting the bullet otherwise, a vacuum effect will occur and the bullet will become a major pain to take out. You have been warned! The bullet vibe itself is your standard one-touch on and off vibe and runs off three watch batteries. You can also use this vibe on its own if you wish.

Pleasure and Use

This toy has one major problem, if you look at the above pic you will see there is only a very slight ridge separating the neck from the rest of the toy. This doesn’t proved enough of a difference to keep the toy inside of you; it stays in slightly longer if you use it without the bullet vibe in but it still falls out very quickly. This ultimately makes this toy a failure; a plug that can’t plug is not a plug. It is a shame because holding it in by hand the angle hit just right and turning the bullet on I was able to achieve anal orgasm with this; of course any good P (or repurposed G same thing mostly) spotting vibrator would do the same only better. Thus, I would only recommend this for those who are experienced enough with anal play to know how their own ass behaves and are confident it is not likely to fall out on them.

Packaging

Since I ordered this directly from Tantus it came in the non-retail plastic bags they use for their direct orders. Like all Tantus toys, it came with the batteries included. The batteries come in the vibe and you just have to remove the little plastic spacer used for shipping and your ready to go.

Closing Thoughts

This toy sadly disappoints me, a butt plug that can’t stay in is useless to me. Although as my first vibrating plug it has provided me with “proof of concept” if you will and I hope I can find a better (i.e stays where it is supposed to) vibrating plug in the future.
