It was an absolute revelation and left me feeling on top of the world and incredibly good about myself. Not really for the reasons you've put but the essential point remains the same... it's not inherently degrading, though it could be. We choose and create the meaning and for me, holding on to my own interpretation is where I am really, truly liberated Having been involved in just such a situation for the first time , as the woman, I have to agree.
